Built for a workshop showcasing the floral and culinary work of @xflos and @yumdoggmillionaire, in collaboration with @adidasau as a part of their 2023 Originals campaign.

The vessel was designed to suit the footprint & circulation of the heritage listed Collingwood house, containing mounds of cooked and uncooked rice of over a dozen varieties which act as the soil that the flowers to ‘grow’ out of.

The 3 metre long trough was sourced from an industrial estate in Daylesford as the base vessel. Four equal perspex boxes were fabricated to house the rice and flowers.

The legs were constructed with upcycled timber floorboards from a demolished property in Coburg, which were torched and sealed with a natural wax. Using generic hardware the boards were assembled to mimic the “X” of the xflos logo, which can collapse using a custom bracket for storage.

The legs and perspex boxes were designed to be reused as floral displays, and the trough has been repurposed as a fire pit for hope st. radio.
